Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join the Merton Neuro Rehabilitation Team for a temporary assignment. The role is based in South West London and offers a daily rate of £300. The position is available to start as soon as possible and is initially for a 4-month period, with the potential for extension. The therapist will have the flexibility to work on a full-time or part-time basis.
What your responsibilities will be for this Speech and Language Therapy role?
The role involves managing a community caseload that includes conducting initial assessments and follow-up appointments, which are pre-scheduled. The therapist will provide care to adult patients with various neurological conditions such as stroke, acquired brain injury (ABI), Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease (MND), and multiple sclerosis (MS). Expertise in treating communication disorders, including dysphagia, aphasia, and motor speech disorders, is essential. The role requires the ability to work independently within the community, delivering high-quality, tailored care to each patient. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is also crucial to ensure a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
Essential Requirements:
- Appropriate qualifications in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Registration with the relevant professional body.
- Experience at Band 6 or Band 7 level within the field of adult neuro rehabilitation is essential.
Flexibility to work across multiple sites
