Job Opportunity: 1:1 School-Based Psychologist (Supporting Children with SEN Needs)

Are you a compassionate and skilled psychologist with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 School-Based Psychologist to work closely with children who require additional emotional and educational support within our inclusive primary school.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one psychological support for children with SEN, helping them manage emotional, behavioural, and learning difficulties.
Conduct assessments to identify children’s specific needs and collaborate with teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and external professionals to create tailored intervention plans.
Work alongside classroom staff to support the integration of therapeutic strategies into the student’s daily learning environment.
Use evidence-based practices to assist children in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and social interaction strategies.
Regularly monitor and evaluate the progress of the children you support, adjusting interventions as necessary and reporting to school leadership and parents.
Offer guidance and support to staff and parents on strategies to help SEN students both in and outside the classroom.
Promote the emotional well-being and mental health of students, ensuring a supportive, nurturing school environment.
Requirements:
A qualified psychologist with experience in working with children with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning disabilities).
Knowledge of child development and experience in delivering psychological assessments and interventions within an educational setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children, staff, and parents.
Empathy, patience, and a passion for making a difference in children’s lives.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the wider school support structure.
