Bid Manager Galldris Group Location: Birmingham An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bid Manager to join our team in Birmingham. To be considered, you will come from a Civil Engineering, Rail or Construction industry background which is mandatory. The Bid Manager will be responsible for leading, managing, coordinating bids as well as the production of technical proposals in support of pre-construction activities. Key Accountabilities to include but not limited to: Manage and take ownership of the end to end bid process. Formulate and agree bid strategy Coordinate the resource engaged in a bid, ensure they are delivering what is needed. Create bid programme to ensure bid is delivered in timely manner Take an active role in business development including identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, developing growth strategies, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve business goals Coordinate, plan and deliver presentations to clients to promote Galldris, the offering and ongoing support throughout the pre-construction phase Attend client workshops and interviews and provide advice and guidance on technical, buildability and value engineering alternatives Produce technical deliverables for bid requirements such as Contractors Proposals, Methodology, buildability, Risk Register etc (or arrange and manage the production of when others are creating content) Liaise with the operations teams in order to ensure that they are briefed on the details of the bid or PQQ and work with them on the resolution of, or input into technical responses Manage the development and implementation of tender stage design development, proposals and deliverables ensuring they meet customer requirements including budget and time constraints Research and write supporting information for use in proposals, including case studies, CVs, project best practice and project innovations Coordinate input of others. i.e., Graphics / H&S / Commercial to achieve successful outcome of bid process Analyse feedback and market trends to refine the bidding process. Invest in research and training to enhance the quality of future submissions and to stay current with industry developments Experience/Knowledge: Previous experience within a bid team or similar technical team, specifically related to the Civil engineering, Rail or Construction industry is mandatory Skills: Previous experience in Pre-Construction environment, preparing and winning tenders An excellent standard of written English A team player with strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to influence an audience Exceptional organisation skills and ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines with attention for detail Proven track record of providing technical output, management or advice Knowledge and experience of the techniques and methods of proposal writing, and the requirements for quality presentations and customer-focused communication Manage their own time and who proactively seeks and executes activities that will add value Ability to work in a deadline-conscious, results-driven environment A thorough knowledge of Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office software Experience of planning software such a P6 or Asta would be desirable Qualifications: A-Level or equivalent Qualifications or Degree in Civil Engineering – desirable Member of professional body, such as Institution of Civil Engineering – desirable Professional membership in APMP or CIM - desirable Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK.
