Commissioning Engineer   Our client a family run firm with a strong history currently has a vacancy for an Commissioning Engineer.  This is due to growth and the continued success of the business.  They are a market leader and award winning firm.   Role objective:   The commissioning engineer will be expected to carry out commissioning on new project installs on and off site and be responsible for all commissioning activities related to the mechanical and part electrical equipment including documentation. Respond to all service users. To work part of a team to ensure the smooth running and operation of our springs department. Maintain all springs production machines. Ensuring operational optimum by providing a quick response to all service users. Liaising with setters and operators to ensure smooth running of the machines.   Duties   To work as part of a team to improve the design, planning and modernisation across the different engineering operations in the business. To work with the development team for new installations and existing machinery moves within the business and at customer premises. Ensuring continuous improvement across the business. Ensuring operational optimum by providing a quick response to all service users. Liaising with Development, production and the Engineering departments to ensure smooth transition and running of the full operational functions Controls testing and confirmation down to documentation level Inhouse team liaison to ensure that overall methodology for commissioning of a particular area is agreed; Ensure commissioning records and results are kept up to date; Ensure safe working practices in accordance with company procedures; Ensure any Hazardous area requirements (DSEAR) are considered & complied with; Attend as required formal handover meetings; Ensure defects are categorized & attended to Use of engineering machines to remanufacture parts when necessary. Undertake tasks to further develop the machine/machine parts as and when requested. Respond to plant breakdowns. Accurate reporting of mechanical breakdowns and spares used. To carry out routine/preventative and reactive maintenance on all mechanical aspects of the plant in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure that all works are carried out to a high standard. Carry out daily/weekly/monthly PM’s, reducing downtime. Improve efficiency on existing machines. Stores/stock controlling, including ordering of parts.   Requirements   City & Guilds trained/qualified mechanical Electrical experience desirable but not essential Apprentice trained or time served. Experience with the implementation of FAT and SAT’s Able to read electrical/mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic technical drawings Computer skills for recording/production of data PLC would be desirable but not essential   5 day shifts rotating weekly, AM 0600 to 1400Monday to Thursday and 0600 to 1300 Friday and PM 1400 to 22.00 Monday to Thursday and 1300 to 2000 Friday   Benefits Salary Circa £39000 - £45000 Plus shift allowance DOE 32 days pro rata (8 days bank holiday)  Pension scheme  Free parking Employee discount Additional Events Benefits death in service benefit; (after successful completion of 12 months service) cycle to work scheme (after successful completion of 12 months’ service); training and development opportunities; optical care vouchers; one wellbeing day per year (after successful completion of probationary period); One additional day’s holiday (or pro-rata,if you work part time) following the completion of 5 years’ service; Option to purchase additional days holiday entitlement (which is in addition to your holiday entitlement)
