Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator Salary                        Point 28 £31,167 per annum Hours                         37 hours per week, all year round Contract                   Permanent Location                    Stamford College Job Purpose We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team. While prior experience as a SENCO is optional, the successful candidate must have a proven track record of effectively supporting individuals with special educational needs. As the SENCO, you will collaborate with key colleagues to ensure that all SEND students receive the necessary resources, accommodations, and guidance to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities EHCP Oversight: Oversee the ALS disclosure and specialist assessment process to ensure timely and effective responses to referrals, EHCP consultations, and EHCP Annual Reviews across the Learning Support Coordinator team. Team Leadership: Lead a team of Learning Support Coordinators, overseeing their performance, training, and well-being. Collaboration: Work closely with Heads of Faculty and teaching staff to implement effective strategies for supporting SEND students. External Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for SEND referral agencies, including Local Authorities, SENCO Networks, and feeder schools. Funding Management: Collaborate with the Head of ALS and SEND to manage the allocation and monitoring of funding for high-needs students. Training and Development: Provide guidance and support staff on SEND-related topics. Qualifications and Experience SEND-related qualifications or relevant experience Proven experience in managing and leading a team Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, policy, and best practices Willingness to obtain required qualifications if necessary Previous experience working with children, young people, or adults with special educational needs Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders Strong organisation skills and attention to detail/accuracy skills We offer: A supportive and collaborative working environment Free access to the Employee Assistance Programme Opportunities for professional development. 30 days annual leave, plus Christmas close down Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme On-site benefits and facilities, including a gym and free on-site parking.
