School Caretaker Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire Hours: 6am – 2pm OR 9am – 5pm OR 12pm – 8pm OR 2pm – 10pm Hourly Rate: £12.01 per hour Duration: 4 weeks Apply now to be our school's caretaker—because even superheroes need a day job! Job Role/ Duties: * Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks * Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify any maintenance needs and address them promptly. * Key holder responsibilities: Manage the security of the premises, including locking and unlocking buildings, monitoring access points, and responding to any security issues * Oversee the cleanliness and tidiness of the facility, performing cleaning tasks and supervising cleaning staff as required. * Communicate effectively with other staff members to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks. * Addressing and fulfilling school requirements, including regular setup tasks, as needed, including facilitation of events. * Liaise with contractors and maintenance companies when necessary, overseeing that work is carried out to an acceptable standard * Clean and tidy all yards, paths, gullies and drains on a regular basis, including the emptying of all external litterbins, including a daily check for litter and graffiti. Remove all litter and leaves from hard/soft ground areas related to the site * Using hands tools and ensuring caretaking equipment is clean, safe to use and correctly stored What we are looking for: * A valid DBS check will be beneficial * Previous experience in a caretaker or cleaning position * General knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations * Happy to do physical work and manual labouring * Experience of managing buildings, grounds and related facilities * Previous background and experience of working in a school environment is beneficial So, are you ready for your next job?
