Senior Infrastructure Engineer - £50,000 - £70,000 DOE - Leeds (Fully onsite)
We're on the lookout for an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to join a dynamic IT Infrastructure team. You'll be working on projects that impact over 10,000+ employees across locations globally. Your role will be pivotal in developing, maintaining, and supporting critical infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud platforms (M365, Azure), unified communications, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
Support and develop global on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
Lead the migration of IT infrastructure to a cloud-managed environment.
Drive infrastructure projects aligned with business goals.
Provide 2nd/3rd line support and mentoring to other team members.
Ensure robust security and data integrity practices.
Collaborate with external partners and global IT teams.
Manage office moves, system updates, and maintain backup processes.Essential Skills:
Microsoft 365 and Cloud Expertise: Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (M365), including administration of M365 services like Azure AD, OneDrive, and Defender ATP. Ability to manage cloud infrastructure and perform cloud migrations, specifically moving from on-premises to cloud-based services (Azure and Microsoft 365).
Windows Server Administration: Proven experience with Microsoft Windows Servers (2012, 2016, and 2019), including hands-on management of Active Directory (AD), Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and other core server functionalities within large, multi-site organisations.
VMware Virtualisation: Extensive experience in the design, deployment, and management of virtual environments using VMware products such as vCentre, ESXi, and related tools. Ability to optimise and maintain virtualised infrastructure to ensure high performance and availability.
Storage and Backup Solutions: Comprehensive experience in managing enterprise-level storage solutions (SAN/NAS), with proficiency in technologies like NetApp, Druva Cloud, Veritas Backup Exec, and Veeam. Strong understanding of backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and regular testing of backup/restore processes.
Networking Expertise: Strong knowledge of networking technologies, including IP networking, WAN, LAN, and wireless (WiFi) infrastructures. Experience working with HPE servers, Aruba switches, and Aruba WiFi networking technologies.
Security and Compliance: Expertise in managing network and data security, including firewall configuration, VPN solutions, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Experience with SOX compliance and other regulatory frameworks would be advantageous.
Endpoint Management and Security Tools: Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) and security tools such as Defender ATP, with the ability to manage devices, implement security policies, and deploy software/updates across a diverse global workforce.
Proactive Problem Solving and Maintenance: Ability to perform preventative maintenance checks on servers, patching systems, reviewing logs, and implementing corrective measures to resolve issues before they affect business operations.
Supplier and Vendor Management: Experience in liaising with external suppliers and service providers to ensure that infrastructure components (hardware, software, and services) are well-supported and maintained.
Project Management: Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading infrastructure projects, managing timelines, and delivering on key business initiatives. Previous experience with IT integration projects (email environments, file access, user migration) would be highly beneficial.Desirable Skills:
Hands-on experience with advanced storage and networking technologies such as NetApp Storage Solutions, Azure landing zones, and cloud networking automation.
Experience with firewall and security technologies, including advanced IP networking, token authentication, SSL-VPNs, and other security protocols.
Working knowledge of web technologies (IIS, .NET) and patch management tools like Zabbix and SolarWinds.
