Role: Automation Engineer
Location: Sidcup
Salary: £60,000 to £68,000 +Shares
Shifts: Panama s Days Only (3 on 2 off 2 on 3 off)

The Company:
Our client who ATA are proud to be exclusively working with are a blue chip FMCG business with operations all around the globe. With turnover in excess of $30bn annually, they can offer incredible stability to Automation Engineers and excellent training and progression opportunities too.
Nearly £40m has been invested into this site in the last 5 years and a further injection of £20m is planned over the coming years aimed at increasing the capacity of production at this facility in South East London. This has been spent on major upgrades to their automation bringing it up to date making the factory a state of the art facility.
The manufacturing process at this site is extremely fast moving, making 54 million units a week across only 4 lines means there will never be a dull moment, whether it be making upgrades to PLCs, helping the Electrical Engineers with Fault Finding or taking on project work.
The Role:
The Role of Automation Engineer will include the following:
- Fault Finding on PLCs Reading through programming language and making adjustments to code to ensure the smooth running of the factory
- Making adjustments to robotics according to production needs
- Programming using Ladder Logic, STL and SCL
- Working on Allen Bradley (RsLogix) and Siemens PLCs (1500 TIA Portal)
- Providing support for cyber security on site
- Continuous Improvements, coming up with ideas for change looking at improving production output
- Fault Finding on Communication network systems like Profibus
The Candidate:
The right candidate for the role of Automation Engineer will be/have
- A recognised Engineering Qualification (Electrical Needed)
- Experience working with PLCs, with a proven track record of being able to read code
- Be able to work well alone or with a shift partner
- Have an eye for continuous improvement
- Work well in a diverse team
- Be a strong communicator with key stakeholders within the business and OEMs
- Be able to think quickly on your feet under pressure in a high volume environment
