Business Studies Manager
At Axiom Personnel , we are currently looking for a Business Studies Manager for one of our distinguished clients based in Hornchurch, London.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am - 17:00pm
Pay rate is £25.13 p/h
Overview:
As a Business Studies Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing business-related courses and managing defined operational issues within the Directorate. This includes line management duties such as performance reviews, observations, and budget control. The role also involves teaching (Apply online only) hours annually (excluding cover for cancelled classes), deputising for the Group Curriculum Director, and teaching across campuses as required. The teaching focus will primarily be on business-related subjects.
Main Responsibilities:
* Support the College’s mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.
* Uphold and implement the College's Equality and Diversity policies, safeguarding practices, and health and safety protocols.
* Take responsibility for personal professional development and contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including data handling in line with GDPR.
Managing Operations:
* Contribute to curriculum development and innovative teaching methods in business courses.
* Oversee student progress, conduct, and quality assurance on designated courses.
* Handle day-to-day course organisation, including staffing matters and student assessments.
* Participate in student selection, enrolment, induction, and monitoring processes.
* Liaise with internal teams and external partners, while promoting courses and conducting market research.
Managing Finance:
* Assist with managing budgets and staffing requirements.
* Authorise purchases and seek external funding opportunities when necessary.
Managing People:
* Assist in recruiting and inducting new lecturers.
* Manage staff performance through coaching, support, and development programmes.
* Build effective course and curriculum teams.
Managing Information:
* Stay updated on developments in Further Education, especially in business education, and provide statistical data for reporting.
* Ensure accurate record-keeping and evaluate programme performance.
Person Specification:
* For this Business Studies Manager role, a degree or professional qualification (teaching qualification preferred or in progress) is required
* Experience in teaching business-related subjects, curriculum development, and managing staff.
* Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
* Understanding of Equality and Diversity, safeguarding, and quality practices in education.
