Location: Southampton Outskirts

Salary: Competitive, circa 35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Our client, a rapidly growing company with a strong international reputation, is seeking an experienced Operations Planner to join their team. This company partners with major names in science and technology and across multiple industries and offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in planning and manufacturing. In this position, you will lead the planning activities within the Delivery Team, ensuring that project and sales deadlines are met efficiently, on time, and within budget. Your responsibilities will range from coordinating production tasks and managing the supply chain to overseeing production documentation and stock control. You will also be expected to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement weekly and monthly production schedules to meet project and customer demands.
  • Raise, issue, and maintain works orders for production and project-related activities.
  • Analyse and forecast material requirements to ensure timely procurement.
  • Manage supply chain relationships, negotiating delivery schedules and ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Oversee the ordering and purchasing of materials and components.
  • Organise repairs and routine maintenance of production equipment.
  • Manage stock levels and reduce aged inventory.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to plan and implement production schedules in a manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in building and maintaining effective supply chain relationships.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • IT literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, and MRP systems.
  • Experience working in a high-technology manufacturing environment (desirable).
