The School and Role
This Committed SEND specialist school in Sheffield supports children aged 11-19 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Here you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment. You will work closely with students, with additional needs such as learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), physical disabilities, and emotional or behavioural challenges, ensuring they receive the support and resources necessary to thrive academically and socially.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our specialist school team, supporting students aged 11 to 19 with a diverse range of needs. Responsibilities:
Support the Class Teacher and Senior Leadership Team in delivering the curriculum and student support.
Promote, encourage and support students in developing independent learning skills.
Comply with policies on child protection, health, safety, confidentiality, and data protection; report concerns appropriately.
Ensure all students have equal access to learning opportunities.
Contribute to the school’s ethos and goals, appreciating the roles of other professionals.
Requirements
The desired Candidate will have:
Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with speech and language difficulties and autism.
Patience and empathy in dealing with diverse learning and behavioural challenges.
Relevant qualifications and experience within education or related fields of work.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Must have a minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications.
