Join our team as a skilled Joiner! Belfast City Council is looking for a qualified and experienced Joiner to join our Facilities Management team. About the Role: As a Joiner, youll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of joinery tasks, including reactive and planned maintenance in council properties. Reporting to the Area Contract Manager, you'll work independently or as part of a team to deliver high-quality results that help maintain and enhance Belfasts public buildings. This role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic team while also participating in on-the-job training and mentoring for new staff. You'll be expected to uphold Belfast City Council's high standards of safety, customer care, and professionalism. Your Duties: Perform all joinery-related tasks, including benchwork and repairs in commercial properties. Undertake reactive and planned maintenance across a variety of council sites. Work from technical drawings to complete projects. Identify, order, and collect materials needed for each job. Participate in a 24-hour emergency callout service as required. Drive council vehicles and work at heights when needed (erecting and dismantling scaffolding). Adhere to Health and Safety and CDM legislation, ensuring the safety of yourself, colleagues, and the public. Provide coaching and training to new employees, apprentices, and contractors. Maintain accurate records, including job-costing and time sheets. Your Profile: Essential Criteria: Time-served Joiner or equivalent qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 in Carpentry and Joinery). Full, current driving licence valid in Northern Ireland or access to transport to meet the roles needs. At least one years relevant experience in: A building maintenance environment. Joinery benchwork and repairs in commercial properties. Your Benefits: £12.93 per hour. Pension Contribution. Additional Information: Full time, Temporary. 08:00-17:00, Monday-Friday.
