Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef: Assist in the planning, development, and execution of a creative and diverse menu that aligns with the gastro pub s reputation for excellence.
- Lead Kitchen Operations: Take charge of kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring consistency in quality, presentation, and service.
- Team Management: Train, mentor, and manage junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Maintain Standards: Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
- Stock Management: Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food cost controls to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Menu Development: Contribute ideas for new dishes and menu enhancements, staying current with food trends and customer preferences.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a high-quality, fast-paced kitchen.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a team and maintain high standards under pressure.
- Passion: A genuine passion for food, with a creative flair and the drive to continually push the boundaries of the menu.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Competitive Salary: £33,000 per annum, reflecting your skills and experience.
- Additional TRONC: Approximately £4,000 per annum, recognising your contribution to the team's success.
