Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives by helping them secure stable housing? We are seeking a motivated Housing Resettlement Officer for our client on a 3-month temporary contract. In this vital role, you will work closely with private landlords and housing providers to support vulnerable individuals and families in need of housing, including those from refugee backgrounds. You will be required to come to the office 3 days a week.   The Role ·Facilitate housing placements by engaging private sector landlords and liaising with tenants to ensure smooth transitions into rental properties. ·Support households in maintaining their tenancies, particularly Afghan and Ukrainian refugee families, by providing guidance on tenancy sustainment and resolving any tenancy-related concerns. ·Collaborate with the Homelessness Prevention and Temporary Accommodation teams to reduce rough sleeping and help former rough sleepers and ex-offenders find stable housing. ·Conduct property inspections to ensure rental units meet council standards. ·Provide advice on welfare benefits, rent payments, and tenancy rights to ensure successful tenancy sustainment. ·Monitor rent payments and work to recover any arrears from current and former tenants.   The Ideal Candidate ·Experience in a customer-facing role, especially within the housing sector. ·Strong understanding of housing legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Landlord and Tenant Law. ·Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex situations effectively. ·Ability to assess tenant affordability, conduct property inspections, and support vulnerable individuals through tenancy challenges. ·Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is desirable ·Ability to work occasionally outside normal office hours and handle emotionally challenging situations. ***Candidates must have the right to work in the UK to be considered for this role***   What you need to do now:  If you are interested in this role and fit the criteria above, please send us your application today.
