Job Requirements / Description
Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee engineering activities for a designated section of the HS2 project. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with technical specifications, project plans, and relevant standards. Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and technical teams to resolve issues and drive the progress of works. Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and construction phase plans. Monitor progress, quality, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with HS2 guidelines and health & safety regulations. Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and site staff. Conduct regular inspections, surveys, and quality checks to ensure engineering excellence. Coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials in line with project timelines. Report on progress to senior management and attend project meetings as required.Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Proven experience in a Section Engineer or Site Engineer role, ideally on large-scale infrastructure or rail projects. Strong understanding of construction processes, design, and engineering practices. Knowledge of relevant health & safety legislation and procedures. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage site teams effectively. Proficient in using engineering software (AutoCAD, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
