The Opportunity Our Drakelow Energy-from-Waste plant marks a new chapter for the business and a significant step forward as we move into the field of industrial-scale power generation with a site that has been developed entirely in-house, right from the point of site identification and design all the way through to us owning, operating and maintaining the facility. We are now looking for a C&I Technician to join the engineering team looking after the site. Due to the team’s ability to provide further on-the-job training, this position would suit someone either with previous experience maintaining Controls & Instrumentation systems in an industrial environment and wanting to move into the world of Power Generation, or alternatively someone from a strong Electrical Engineering/Electrical Maintenance background where they are looking to develop their knowledge of and experience in Controls & Instrumentation. The Role Reporting to the Power Station Manager, you will be responsible for: * Supporting with commissioning activities during final commissioning phase, and then carrying out operations and maintenance tasks for relevant equipment * Assisting in the selection, assessment, identification and procurement of C&I equipment * Carrying out installations, calibrations, programming and set up of C&I equipment * Recording and monitoring control parameters * Liaising with internal and external designers and project teams throughout delivery of new and ongoing projects * Fault finding on PLCs, instrument control circuits etc. Skills/Experience: * Educated to at least ONC level in Electrical, Controls or Instrumentation discipline, or otherwise time-served in a position within one of these fields * Previous experience working in an industrial environment * Ex-Forces and Forces leavers with transferrable experience are also strongly invited to apply * A full UK driving licence * A flexible approach to working practices and hours * An understanding of pneumatic & hydraulics (advantageous) * Experience with motor VSD controls and MCC equipment (advantageous) The Package * £45,000 - £53,000 DOE * Private medical support * Contributory Company Pension Scheme * Non-contributory death-in-service insurance * Employee Assistance Programme * 25 Days Holiday plus 8 days bank holidays. * Additional holidays awarded in line with length of service * Option to purchase/sell additional holidays * Discounted gym membership across the UK * EV charging points where possible Applications will be processed within 28 days of receipt.
