Our client is a leading waste recycling, industrial cleaning company that deliver responsible total waste management solutions and responsible environmental services to customers nationwide.
Supporting the Stock Control Manager in maintaining TFS stock levels of accepted waste at our clients facility. This will include and not be limited to management of the onsite Stock Sheet, selecting appropriate stock of waste on site for ongoing disposal. This waste will be appropriately listed, quoted for by a disposal supplier, have an appropriate IPO raised for it and will be dispatched in a manner from site that is safe and legal to be transport on the road and by sea.
Your main duties will include the approval and scheduling of incoming loads of TFS related material into site (internal and external) ensuring there is adequate capacity to accept and store material on site in line Sector Guidance Note (SGN) 5.06, the site Environmental Permit and HSG51 – The Storage of Flammable Liquids in Containers, HSG 71 Chemical Warehousing: The Storage of Packaged Dangerous Substances. Working alongside Technical Department in contacting disposal point suppliers and confirming material is suitable for intended disposal routes as per BAT requirements set out in SGN 5.06. Reviewing of selected listed waste by TFS Operatives to ensure suitability for intended disposal route. Management of stock (UN approved over bags, drum banding, shrink wrap) to ensure there is adequate for preparation of outgoing loads. Liaising with disposal points to negotiate mutually agreed disposal dates. Pre-notification of loads on IWS system. Booking of transport for outgoing TFS loads. Working to agreed KPIs for number of outgoing loads per week/month along with maximising the weight of each outgoing load to ensure maximisation of profitability. Support Site Management in compiling information for regular KPI review meetings. Ensure outgoing loads are prepared to the agreed standard for transport by road and by sea – making sure waste is secured appropriately and won’t move during transport, there are no leaking containers, and all waste is appropriated labelled and sign off sheets for all loads are completed. Completion of appropriate paperwork accompanying outgoing loads to ensure compliance with legal framework. Generation of IPOs in line with the IPO Procedure to cover disposal costs with supplier and transport costs.
To qualify, you will possess a HNC or Degree Level Qualification in Chemistry or a similar related field. Experienced in working in the Hazardous Waste Sector. Experienced in working in a Health and Safety driven business, with knowledge of the Health & Work Act 1974, The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Experience to working to HSG51 – The Storage of Flammable Liquids in Containers, HSG 71 Chemical Warehousing: The Storage of Packaged Dangerous Substances. Knowledge of Hazardous Waste Regulations including Sector Guidance 5.06, Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005, Environmental Protection Act 1990, Environmental Permitting Regulations 2018
