About the role: Are you passionate about helping young learners overcome challenges and thrive? Do you have the patience, empathy, and resilience to support students with special educational needs? If so, we’d love for you to apply for our SEN Teaching Assistant position in Waltham Forest, starting this January 2025! As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your focus will be on providing one-on-one support to help these students build essential life skills and achieve their learning goals. The role involves working with students who may have challenging behaviours, such as running, shouting, or requiring extra support with communication. If you’re passionate about making a meaningful impact on a child’s development, this role offers a truly rewarding experience.

Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with SEN/SEMH needs preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Resilience, patience, and a calm approach to challenging situations.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Right to work in the UK and a valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide dedicated one-on-one support to students with SEMH needs.
• Use strategies to manage and positively engage students with challenging behaviours.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement tailored educational plans.
• Encourage a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
• Help students develop confidence, independence, and self-management skills.
