Job Title: CNC Setter / Operator
Location: Whitstable, Kent
Salary: up to £38,853
£12.64 - £15.94 per hour + 25% shift allowance
Hours: WEEK 1: Monday to Friday 6am-2pm / WEEK 2: Monday to Thursday 2pm-10.30pm / Friday 2pm-7.30pm

Role Summary:
As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will play a vital role in our client's production process. Working with state-of-the-art CNC machinery, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machines to manufacture high-quality components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise in CNC setting and operating will be essential in delivering exceptional results.

Career progressionKey responsibilities within your new role would be to:
Set and operate CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components from raw materials.
Ensure products are to the highest quality before being sent to the assembly line.
Produce small to medium size components in a timely manner,
Inspect work to engineers drawings using various measuring equipment.
Report and quality defects to the machine shop supervisor.
Complete daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on the machines.
Maintain good housekeeping and report any issues promptly.
Optimise efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life and monitoring.
De-burring, cleaning and final inspection of products.
Completing all required paperwork to ensure tractability.
Carry out other duties as requested. Experience and skills required for this position:
Knowledge of operating CNC machine tools.
Experience of setting and operating CNC lathes, with a minimum of 4 axis.
Experience of reading and editing faunc programs.
Experience within a low batch component manufacturing industry.
The ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Be able to use a range of measuring equipment to ensure the accuracy against the drawing.
The ability to perform repetitive tasks over a long period of time.
Knowledge of operating twin spindle machines would be advantageous.
The ability to work to AS9100 aerospace quality standards would be advantageous. Next steps:
