Overview As the Senior Regulatory Specialist, you will perform a variety of regulatory activities related to raw materials, finished products, product registration, labelling, claims, packaging, and regulatory database management to ensure compliance with applicable food and other product-related laws and regulations in accordance with internal processes and within assigned countries and areas of responsibility. This position proactively identifies potential regulatory problems, and takes action, as appropriate, to minimise or eliminate such problems and performs other duties to assist in creating a positive scientific and regulatory environment for our products and business goals. Responsibilities: * Responsible for assuring ingredients, formulas, labelling, and packaging are in full compliance with laws and regulations as well as internal standards/policies/ in assigned markets * Has responsibility for assuring claims are in full compliance with laws and regulations as well as internal standards and policies in assigned markets * Works with internal partners to understand priorities and impacts of developing legislation and aligns appropriate external positions. * Proactively monitors regulatory developments and activities in assigned markets; determines current and expected regulatory status of (new) ingredients and additives; researches interpretations regarding the safety and acceptability of products and ingredients, and assures that SRA databases are up to date and contain the best current information * Participates on project teams, anticipates regulatory issues and works with legal counsel, consultants, suppliers, and trade associations and other external partners to clarify and resolve these issues. * Provides strategic Scientific and Regulatory Affairs advice; takes leadership to materialise opportunities to support our growth plans. * Assists with the preparation and submission of documentation to regulatory agencies and other external bodies required to substantiate and approve claims and to gain approval of new ingredients as required Key Skills and Experience * A Bachelor’s degree in a technical area, such as nutrition, food science, biology, chemistry or pharmacology. * Previous experience working as a regulatory specialist in food products (nutrition, drinks etc) within the UK, ideally Europe as well * Risk management and analysis * Experience working with trade associations and government agencies to clarify and resolve regulatory matters is preferred * Stakeholder management D,E&I We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
