Role Overview:
As a Social Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating lessons in a variety of social science subjects, which may include Sociology, Psychology, or other relevant areas. You will inspire students to think critically, engage with real-world issues, and develop a passion for the social sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum for social science subjects.
Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic achievement.
Use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and ensure every student has the opportunity to excel.
Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback and supporting individual learning needs.
Promote a positive and inclusive school culture, supporting the development of each student’s confidence and skills.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best practices.
Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
A degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
Strong subject knowledge and passion for social sciences.
Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
Desirable:
Experience teaching Sociology, Psychology, or related subjects at Key Stage 4 and 5.
Previous experience in an all-girls school setting.
Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities or school initiatives
