Java AWS Lead Engineer

Job Posting: Lead Engineer Location: London Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer with a strong background in cloud migration, microservices architecture, and containerized environments to lead our engineering team in a high-impact cloud transformation. This role will involve overseeing the migration of over 120 microservices to AWS, building new services, and driving cloud-native innovations with technologies like Kubernetes and Istio. Key Responsibilities: * Cloud Migration Leadership: Lead the migration of over 120 microservices to the cloud, ensuring best practices in architecture, security, and scalability. * Microservices Design: Architect and develop microservices on AWS, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability. * Technical Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align on requirements and project goals. * Mentorship & Best Practices: Provide mentorship on software engineering and cloud-native design, with a focus on microservices, Docker, and Istio. * CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitLab, Helm, and Argo CD for efficient and secure deployments. Must-Have Technical Skills: * Core Technologies: * Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Istio, Terraform * Programming & Frameworks: Java, Spring, Spring Boot * Messaging & Communication: Kafka * DevOps & CI/CD: GitLab, Helm, Argo CD, Maven * Experience Requirements: * Cloud Migration Expertise: Proven experience leading large-scale cloud migrations, with a strong understanding of AWS and Kubernetes. * Microservices & Containerization: Extensive knowledge of microservices architecture, with hands-on experience using Docker and Istio for service management and orchestration. * Java & Spring Proficiency: Skilled in Java and Spring frameworks, focusing on building and scaling robust applications.
