Role: Building safety act officerLocation: Central LondonSector: Built EnvironmentSalary: 65,000 - 75,000 + industry leading benefits packageCarriera are looking for a dynamic individual who wishes to learn and develop as a Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act across multiple developments including non- high risk buildings and high risk buildings. The role requires a clear communicator in both verbal and written, someone who is passionate about technical delivery, enjoys the challenges of multitasking across various stages of projects and enjoys team interaction across the industry.Responsibilities & DutiesAttend Design Team/ Workshop meetings as per allowance within scopePrepare and produce BSA progress reports at the end of each RIBA Stage/Gateway submissionLiaison with other duty holders about design work complianceEnsure reasonable steps are taken to design work which is planned, managed and monitored to ensure compliance with all relevant requirements.Liaising with client on their duties under the BSAEnsure co-operation is occurring between all other duty holdersCoordinate the route to compliance with the consultant team and establish a consensus for complianceSupport the project team with notifying the regulator of any duty holder appointmentsParticipating in the Design DevelopmentEnsure there is a mandatory reporting plan in place throughout the design phase and available when construction work beginsSupporting the team through change management throughout the design phase and monitoring risks to design work complianceEnsure the Fire and Emergency File is in place during the design phase – handing over to the PC during the construction phaseMonitor the design development and identify risks to complianceMonitor competency of design teamThe ideal Candidate be:Candidate with a minimum of 4 years experience.Architect, Architectural Technologist, Construction management backgroundHas chartership/working towards accreditation within the industryA level of experience of High Risk BuildingsAware and understands the PD duties and responsibilitiesKeen eye for technical challenges across all parts of the construction industryUnderstanding of modern methods of constructionComfortable with Building regs, BSA legislation, BS documents, statutory processes etcPassionate about technical delivery (not just design),Enjoys processed driven roleEnjoys working across multiply jobs at various stages.Has a presence and confidence to grow and carry the roleIf you are interested in this role or would like some more information, please contact Alex Harcombe on 07930 904405 for further information.Carriera Limited values diversity and promotes equality and no terminology in this advert is intended to discriminate against any protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.
