What You'll Do:
- Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to define scope and needs for each job.
- Collect and confirm all measurements and specifications onsite to ensure precise project planning.
- Perform take-offs, calculate dimensions and quantities, and account for factors like waste, storage, and transportation.
- Identify required subcontractor work, obtain quotes, negotiate competitive prices, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Keep up-to-date cost records on materials, labor, and equipment to enhance accuracy in estimates.
- Assess risks and identify cost-saving measures, collaborating with Commercial and Contracts Managers on project targets.
- Prepare compliant, competitive bids that reflect our client's commitment to quality, accuracy, and deadline compliance.
What You Bring:
- In-depth knowledge of flat roofing, building regulations, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software and spreadsheets for precise cost calculations.
- Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective results.
- A thorough approach to reviewing project documents, with attention to potential challenges and opportunities.
- Excellent math skills to accurately calculate quantities, areas, and volumes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and a solid grasp of IT tools.
