Transport / Taxi Controller Location: Lambeth - South East London Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 Employment Type: Full-Time (Hybrid working available) Role Overview: This role will be responsible for coordinating the movement of vehicles, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations, and managing a diverse fleet that supports public services such as healthcare, public transportation, road maintenance, and emergency response. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the fleet while delivering high-quality service to the local authority and the community. Key Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations of a diverse fleet, including scheduling, routing, and vehicle allocation to support local authority services Ensure all fleet vehicles are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with legal standards, including MOT, servicing, and inspections Monitor fleet usage, vehicle performance, and fuel consumption to maximise efficiency Ensure passenger safety and comfort at all times. Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the fleet. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies. Utilise GPS and other navigation tools to determine the most efficient routes. Handle customer inquiries and provide assistance as needed.Desirable Requirements: Valid TFL Operator License would be a bonus Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Transport Operator in London Knowledge of London / southwest London area, traffic patterns, and landmarks would be beneficial Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanour Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
