This role does not offer sponsorship.**As part of our continued growth, Underley Garden seeks an enthusiastic ExamsOfficer with Teaching Cover who can inspire pupils and young people withcomplex learning through a highly personalised curriculum. Our pupils andyoung people need engaging, creative, practical learning and so deliveringstaff need the ability to thrive in a flexible curriculum structure and fullyutilise our fantastic facilities to offer personalised programmes.**Purpose of Job**This key function of this role is to cover teacher and teaching assistantabsence across the school. There will be an expectation to deliver and supportplanning of lessons in the case of sickness, as well as providing pastoralsupport where necessary. When we do not require cover for teachers, you willbe required to cover breaks and completing tasks at the SLT’s discretion.There is also the responsibility of Exams Officer attached to this role.**Specific Roles and Responsibilities**The supervisor will be responsible for: * delivering lessons to cover teacher absence * supporting in classes across the school to cover teaching assistant absence * liaising with teaching staff with regard to work set for a class; * managing the behaviour of students to ensure a safe and inspiring learning environment * collecting any completed work and resources after the lesson and returning them to the appropriate teacher or subject lead * to work alongside teacher and teaching assistants to ensure a positive environment for all pupils * to be able to plan lessons if and when required * to take on the role of Exams Officer for our small cohort of young people**About Us**Underley Garden School is a large school with small class sizes, focusing onpupils and young people, aged 5-19, who have a range of complex needsassociated with autism and learning disabilities, including complexcommunication, sensory and behavioural needs associated with theirdisabilities.Our School adopts a holistic, person-centred approach to the development ofour young people and endeavours to ensure that they achieve as high a standardas possible.
