Purpose of the role
We are looking for a project manager to be responsible for planning, executing, and closing VRAI’s projects according to deadlines and within budget. This role involves coordinating team members and resources, managing stakeholder communications, and ensuring that project goals align with VRAI’s strategic objectives.
This is a hands-on role and terrific opportunity for someone who will be working with cross-functional teams and delivering cutting edge projects in the area of simulation training and data analytics.
The successful candidate would also be involved in other ongoing cutting edge projects funded in Ireland, UK and through the EU.
The ideal candidate will have proven project management and customer facing experience, as well as background in the area of data analytics, software or related disciplines.
Key responsibilities
Lead and Manage: Oversee the end-to-end management of projects at VRAI leading cross functional teams
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders (internal and external) involved in the project.
Technical Contribution: Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team, contributing to the development and implementation of simulation and data solutions.
Commercial Strategy: Identify and pursue commercialisation opportunities arising from the project, ensuring alignment with our organisational goals and objectives.
Project Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and deliver complex project reports, including progress updates, technical documentation, and financial reports, in compliance with EU/UK regulations and guidelines.
Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with potential customers and stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are met and exceeded throughout the project lifecycle.
Drive Continuous Improvement : provide recommendations and data to inform improvements in the PM practices and project running and in the overall SDLC and sim delivery within VRAI.
Qualifications & Profile
Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science finance/business or business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
5+ years of project management experience, preferably in software development, games, simulation or a related industry.
PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, Scrum Master or other relevant project management certification is preferred.
Proven track record of successfully leading and managing complex projects, including experience with project planning, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
Experience with defence companies/contractors, training simulators or learning & software development would be a bonus.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
Start-up experience a distinct advantage.
Some travel across the UK and Ireland will be required
