Restraint Assistants – SEMH School, Lewisham - £85-£100 per day - Long-term, full-time - ASAP start * x5 Restraint Assistants needed * Monday-Friday * 8.30am-4pm * Long-term, full-time * South East London - Downham area / Lewisham Are you restraint trained? Do you have a passion for supporting young vulnerable people? Do you have have empathy? If the answer is YES, then this Restraint Assistant role is for you! The role - Restraint Assistants Are you a passionate Restraint Assistant and available for a full-time role supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking x5 Restraint Assistants to join a specialist SEMH school in Lewisham. As a Restraint Assistant, you will work with staff to manage challenging behaviours, using de-escalation strategies and, where necessary, safe physical interventions, always adhering to the school’s policies and best practice guidelines. The ideal Restraint Assistant candidate will be calm, resilient, and dedicated to making a positive impact on students’ lives. You MUST be able to commit to a long-term, full-time position and be able to commute to the downham area / lewisham borough. The school - Restraint Assistants They are a special school who support all children from 5 to 16 who have SEMH as their main need. They admit children from all Lewisham mainstream schools who are referred to them. They will support the child and the family to put in support mechanisms and strategies to help manage behaviour/learning progress. They have an open door policy for all parents and encourage them to come up to the school no matter how small the worry may be. The school is located near an overground station and has several bus routes connecting to Lewisham DLR station and southeastern trains. The school has free on-site parking or local free side road parking options directly outside the site.
