First Article Inspection (FAI) Engineer / Quality Engineer

This activity is inside IR35 (Umbrella Company Required)

33 per hour

1 month contract

Currently seeking a detail oriented First Article Inspector / Quality Engineer to support a a short-term (1-month) project on-site at a customer facility in Luton. The support will primarily be leading the preparation process on a number of mechanical and electrical First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).

Responsibilities:

  • Complete a thorough and accurate preparation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in line with the customer and AS9102 requirements.
  • Work with customer personnel to gain access to / obtain all the required supporting documentation to support the preparation / completion of the FAIRs.
  • Where issues are identified, work with the customer to identify potential solutions to ensure the FAIR preparation process can proceed.
  • Provide concise feedback to customer quality, engineering and design teams on road-blocks and facilitate feedback.
  • Maintain FAI tracker for review status, outcome and any issues identified.

Role Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years, in the last 5 years, aerospace experience in either a quality engineering or manufacturing engineering capacity
  • Strong and robust working knowledge of AS9102 at the current revision, in addition to a sound understanding of the requirements of AS9100.
  • The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, supported by a strong aerospace / defence mechanical and electrical background
  • Ability to articulate FAI issues both verbally and in writing
  • Strong computer skills, specifically with the use of Microsoft Office applications and custom databases.
