Junior Design Engineer

Our client is a privately owned, very successful manufacturer and wholesaler of a wide range of industrial related products. This well established company of 40 years has 'worked hard' to build a premium brand from its operation based near Norwich and has a rivalled reputation in their sector due to the loyal and dedicated team and the quality service they provide. The opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer (proficient in Solidworks) to join the technical department. This is a great opportunity for a practical, analytical, problem-solving design engineer who is at the early stages of their engineering career to develop with this exciting company. Joining the innovation team, you will be able to work within a commercial design environment, using Solidworks to create 3D models and designs to a high standard, initially working from a BOM or initial layout to develop products from concept to manufacture, from quote to drawings to meet customers specification. Responsibilities: * Redesign and design from existing Drawings * Design bespoke from fresh drawings or standard product drawings * Produce quotations, approval drawings and BOM’s (Bill of Materials) whilst complying to ISO 9001 standards * Effectively support and communicate with the commercial team and the production team. * Investigating drawing issues; identifying solutions; recommending action * Observe control points for quality and health & safety Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.15pm, Friday 8.30am to 4pm * Salary to suit experience, up to £35'000 * Contributory Pension * Bonus * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays * Free parking * Company events
