Compass Point Recruitment is looking to recruit a Production Engineer who will work between the Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain departments within a fantastic local business. This is a newly created role, whereby development and training will be offered to keep your career moving forward. Main Responsibilities and Experience Required: Support and Develop Manufacturing Team: Involved in Continuous Improvement (C.I.) activities, jigs and fixtures, process flow, and design for manufacture along with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Bill of Materials (BoM) Creation and Streamlining: Essential for collaboration with engineering and supply chain. CAD Proficiency: Preferably in SolidWorks, to manage drawings (DWGs) and change notes. Support Quality in NCR Investigations: Assisting in non-conformance report investigations. Good knowledge and understanding of manufacturing, mechanical, and electrical engineering methods and techniques. Ideally educated to degree level in an applicable engineering field or HNC/HND with experience and further qualifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, and organisational abilities. Proven experience and ability to manage processes and technology. Experience in ERP systems BoM creation and streamlining. Experience in using CAD packages preferably SolidWorks. Personality Traits: Active self-starter with drive and enthusiasm. Excellent collaboration and communication skills at multiple levels. Logical thinker with strong analytical skills. Knowledge and experience in using ERP systems. Salary and Start Date: Salary Range: £35-£40k Start Date: Ideally as soon as possible Initially, you will focus on rectifying historical BoMs, DWGs, and change notes, addressing legacy issues that are a business priority. This role is currently critical to the business and presents growth opportunities, allowing you to make this role your own in the future.
