Our client a leading contractor who are working on a water and wastewater infrastructure contract have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical and Electrical Site Manager to join their construction team working out of the Colchester area.
Working under the Construction Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Supervisors, delivery teams and sub-contractors on site.
The role will require the effective utilisation of time and resources to meet budgets and delivery programmes.
You will be expected to carry out the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, quality and performance standards. Ensuring all work meets required water industry regulations and approved standards.
Responsibility include:
- You will be accountable for SHEQ performance of Projects, including undertaking and record findings of periodic SHEQ visits. Act as an ambassador for the company by supporting, promoting and implementing all company and Business Unit initiatives.
- Be responsible for communicating and recording all Corporate, SHEQ and Business Unit briefings. All briefings/inductions are recorded on relevant forms and retained for reference.
- Appropriate welfare is available for use and well maintained throughout the construction phase. You will ensure all site base personnel hold relevant qualifications and training to carry out their duties.
- You will be accountable for timely completion of multiple concurrent projects, safely and within budget. Attend internal and external review and progress meetings.
- Co-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installation & construction teams. Monitor SHEA, legislative & programme performance of sub-contractor as per own team.
- Responsible for all Health and Safety issues on site will form part of your role. This includes the completion of paperwork, including weekly safety & environmental inspections, tool-box talks, site-specific risk assessments & method statements.
- Ensuring Personal H&S & MTRA are completed and valid. Ensure near misses are recorded through good catch. Carrying out ad hoc risk assessment as necessary.
Experience include:
- Knowledge and experience in the water industry.
- Site Safety Management (or attended 5-day course) and CSCS card.
- Experienced in Civil, M&E/construction industry
- SHEQ
- Comprehensive IT abilities including MS Suite, alongside good Project and programme management skills.
