Our dedicated Building Surveying Team will proactively manage and undertake surveys, formulate designs and specifications, administrate projects and programmes plus various other bespoke services to ensure our clients estate remains well maintained and achieves its full potential. We additionally provide extensive commercial services which include Dilapidations, Lease Advice and Pre-acquisition surveys. Surveyors work in close contact with the client, advising them on legal and financial matters that arise during the project. Overview of Role: We are currently undertaking surveying roles across numerous different sectors and establishments across the UK as well as being appointed have been appointed to undertake condition surveys for the Department for Education, covering 7300 properties across England over 5 years. The commission is one of the largest of its kind ever undertaken across Europe and follows on from the success of its predecessor commission. The role involves visual assessment of building fabric condition, to be captured via a tablet application or into a report template. We are currently recruiting a Building Condition Surveyor to join a client focused team. This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to join and strengthen our team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to take responsibility for providing all core surveying services on a number of interesting areas of property Key Responsibilities: * Delivery of Building Fabric condition data capture surveys. * To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances. * To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures. * Comply with established commercial/procurement/ contractual strategies. * Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards. * Individually or as part of a team operate processes for the selection, appointment and management of construction and engineering contractors. * Undertake pre-survey meetings with client representatives. * Building Stock Condition Surveys. * Populate the asset management system via tablet technology with data relating to the condition of the stock and surrounding areas along with other legislative requirements. * Advising and liaising with internal project and cost control team. * Developing Commercial Strategies. * Developing Acquisition Strategies. Person Specification: The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results. * Building Surveying degree or equivalent. Relevant experience will also be considered. * 2 years’ post qualification experience assessing building fabric element condition. * Enhanced DBS Clearance (can be undertaken on successful application). * IT literate and capability to use tablet-based data collection technologies. * Willingness to travel nationally. * Willing to obtain professional registration within 3 years (MCIOB, MRICS or similar) * Well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute. * Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal. * Excellent customer service, communication and client/external interface skills. * Own vehicle required with full UK licence
