Teacher of Spanish Location: York, North Yorkshire Start Date: January 2024 or January 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum Contract Type: Full-Time GSL Education is looking to appoint a Qualified Teacher of Spanish for a long-term role in York, North Yorkshire starting in November 2024 or January 2025. You will play a key role in inspiring students to develop their language skills and cultural understanding. As a Teacher of Spanish, your responsibilities will include: Delivering engaging and effective Spanish lessons at Key Stage 3 and GCSE level. Focussing on developing students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Spanish Language. Adapting teaching and learning methods to meet the diverse needs of students. Fostering a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves in the target language. Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in language teaching. Preparing students for GCSE exams, through effective teaching and tailored revision sessions. Teacher of Spanish Requirements: Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree Proven experience teaching Spanish in a secondary school setting in the last 2 years, with references available upon request. Be able to deliver Spanish to secondary level; having French as a second language is desirable but not essential. Experience working with children who have additional needs. The ability to build and maintain appropriate relationships with staff, students, and outside agencies. Have a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
