About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Chef to join a dedicated team at a beautifully refurbished care home in Great Easton, Essex. This role offers an excellent work-life balance, with no late nights and consistent hours throughout the week. As a Sous Chef, you will take charge of the kitchen three days a week, while working alongside the Head Chef for one day, providing a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare high-quality meals for residents, catering to their individual needs and preferences.
  • Assist the Chef Manager in managing the kitchen team and ensuring high standards of food hygiene and safety.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, performing risk assessments and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Take responsibility for the kitchen and staff in the absence of the Chef Manager.
  • Aid in menu planning and development, ensuring a variety of nutritious and delicious meals.
  • Foster a friendly and approachable atmosphere, interacting positively with residents, guests, and families.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Chef in a catering environment, ideally within the care industry.
  • Valid food hygiene certificate.
  • City & Guilds 7061 or NVQ Level 2 in Catering for the Hospitality Industry.
  • A proactive, passionate, and ambitious attitude.
  • Ability to take initiative and responsibility.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Clean DBS.
