My client is part of a larger organisation, providing the financial strength to carry out any project with confidence. Having been in business for over 50 years, my client has an impressive portfolio of projects across various sectors, including workspace, hospitality, commercial, leisure, and airport spaces. About the role: As a Design Manager for a commercial fit-out contractor, you will oversee the entire design process, from initial client meetings through to project completion. Your role involves managing design teams, coordinating with architects and engineers, and ensuring that designs meet client requirements, budgets, and timelines. You’ll be responsible for reviewing technical drawings, resolving design issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll regularly liaise with clients and stakeholders, ensuring a seamless flow between design and construction phases while delivering creative and functional solutions that meet project specifications. Rewards & Benefits: * Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 (depending on experience) * Travel Allowance: £5,000 * Pension * Healthcare * Flexible working Requirements: * Proven experience as a Design Manager in commercial fit-out or a related construction sector * Strong knowledge of design principles, building regulations, and industry standards * Ability to manage and coordinate design teams, ensuring project timelines and budgets are met * Experience working with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders * Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and ability to review technical drawings * Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills * A degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred * Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
