Field Service Engineer Location: South / East of the UK. Field/Home Office Based: daily travel to customer sites anywhere in the UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel for training (Germany or USA). In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining cutting-edge microscopy and optical systems, ensuring excellent service and customer satisfaction. The role covers everything from site surveys and installations to repairs, maintenance, and decommissioning. Principal Purpose As a Field Service Engineer, your main responsibility will be to provide technical service and support to customers. You will ensure equipment is performing to specification, diagnose and repair issues, and maintain service performance targets. The role requires you to act as a technical expert and key contact for customers, making sure their needs are met efficiently. Key Responsibilities Perform daily service tasks, including diagnosis, repair, preventive maintenance, installation, and commissioning Maintain accurate and timely service documentation and records Manage spare parts, including ordering, installation, and returns Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated Provide alternative solutions when repairs cannot be completed on time Offer technical support to customers and colleagues Participate in site surveys, meetings, and international training as needed Travel extensively within the UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel for training or meetings Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulationsWhat We're Looking For 2-3 years of experience in electronics or mechanical service roles HNC/HND qualification or equivalent hands-on experience Strong customer service mindset with effective communication skills Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally, Valid UK driving licenseWhat We Offer Competitive salary and attractive benefits package Company car Opportunity to work with world-class technology and contribute to meaningful projects Continuous training and career development opportunitiesIf you're passionate about problem-solving, technology, and delivering exceptional customer service, this is the role for you!
