We have an exciting 9-month fixed term/secondment opportunity for an ambitious leader to join us as our Assistant Director for Quality, Performance and Transformation (QPT).

About the Role:

In this pivotal role, you will lead key functions (contract management, ICT, procurement, and program management) that are essential for achieving the objectives outlined in the council's Borough Plan, the Southwark Stands Together programme, Southwark 2030 and the division's business plan.

The functions within this business unit support the Children's and Adults' Services department's goals related to evidence-based contract management, data-driven performance management, and transformation through the procurement, mobilization, and implementation of commissioning programmes. The role also leads on the Technology Transformation Programme being jointly delivered with Technology and Digital Services (TDS).

This role reports to the Director of Integrated Commissioning and has four direct reports related to contract management, ICT, procurement, and program management. The successful candidate will oversee a program that involves procuring and managing contracts with an annual value exceeding £80 million and providers with a workforce of over 2,000 people.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Transforming the ICT offerings for practitioners and management to ensure the experiences and outcomes for Southwark residents are as positive as possible.
  • Managing relationships within the department, particularly with the Assistant Director for Commissioning and other Assistant Directors across Adult Social Care, Children & Families, and Education.
  • Building relationships with external stakeholders and key partners, including providers of care and support services, the CQC, Ofsted, and Partnership Southwark partners.

This is a full time, 36 hours per week position.

The salary for this post ranges from £76,074 to £95,700 per annum. This post attracts an additional financial JNC benefits package (pro-rata April to March and reviewed annually).

Salary Range (Full time equivalent): £83,964 - £105,096
