An exciting opportunity has just become available for an Activities Coordinator to join one of Xealthcares amazing care providers nursing homes on a permanent, full-time contract. Located in Hereford, The care home caters to 50 elderly residents and provides both nursing and residential care. Following the most recent CQC inspection the care home has been rated ‘GOOD’. Position: Activities Coordinator As an Care Activities Coordinator you need to create a stimulating and developing activity programme to enhance the quality of life for our elderly residents. To support residents’ emotional wellbeing, you will plan, organise and co-ordinate activities for active daily living in groups and individually. You will interact with residents to enable them to continue with hobbies and keep active. Encouraging involvement in the local community, you will plan, organise and accompany our residents on external outings when we are able to as well as bring to local community into the home. This position would also suit an experience care assistant or senior care assistant seeking a change in roles. Key Responsibilities: * Identify resident activity needs and wishes through assessment, observation and discussion. * Liaise with staff, friends and family of the residents to ensure full knowledge of the resident’s likes, dislikes, interests, abilities and difficulties. * Advertise programmes in an appropriate manner which encourages involvement of all staff, residents and relatives. * Maintain written records of resident assessments, participation and activity evaluations in line with the Quality Manual. * Regularly review resident needs, the programme of activities and levels of participation, in conjunction with Management. * Organise outings as appropriate, considering safety needs and staffing requirements. Requirements: * No requirement of NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, but it would be ideal. * Prior experience in a care setting or similar role is preferred. * Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in the well-being of elderly individuals. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively within a team and independently. * Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. * Respect for privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
