Digital Skills Academy with Version 1 If you're interested in a career in Digital Services, training opportunities are now available. Candidates selected to join the programme will receive cutting-edge training on the latest technologies. This digital academy helps you develop your IT skill-sets, earn industry-recognised certifications and have the opportunity to work within Version. Training The Digital Skills Academy with Version 1 is fully funded by the Department for the Economy and delivered in partnership with Belfast Metropolitan College (BMC). The academy is an eight-week intensive training course, delivered through a mix of onsite learning at a BMC campus and virtually. The academy will prepare you for an associate position in potential roles such as Dev Ops Engineers and Software development. If selected for the academy, you'll receive training in: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) Cisco Cybersecurity Essentials Java Human Insights Design Thinking During the training academy, you: will receive a weekly training allowance of £175 will be reimbursed weekly travel expenses may be eligible for childcare allowance If you successfully complete the course, you'll be guaranteed a job interview with Version 1. However, successful completion of the academy is not a guarantee of gaining employment. Who can apply No previous experience is needed, however at the point of application, you must: be at least 18 years old have been awarded at least a level 5 qualification in a relevant STEM subject or a 2:2 in any degree discipline have a right to work and to undertake Assured Skills training in the UK and not be disqualified from doing either by reason of immigration status. be eligible for UK security clearance should you be successful and gain employment with Version 1 you will be working on some exciting customer projects, and you will be asked to apply for security clearance - have appropriate IT access to link to the online tuition If a large number of applications are received, Version 1 reserve the right to enhance the minimum criteria, if necessary, to generate a manageable shortlist for interviews. How to apply The application process will involve the completion of an online application form and online psychometric assessment. Apply online: Closing date Completed applications must be returned by 12 pm (UK time) on Friday 1 November 2024. Selection process The selection process is made up of an online interview and an in-person assessment day. Interviews will be held from 22 to 29 November 2024. The assessment day will be held on 11 December 2024,with successful candidates being offered a place on the Academy. An information session for successful applicants will be held on 21 November 2024, with the opportunity to meet representatives from the Department for the Economy, Version 1 and Belfast Metropolitan College. Training dates Training will start on 13 January 2025 and finish on 7 March 2025. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the training period.
