Senior Ecologist

Our client is seeking a dynamic and motivated Ecologist to join their team and contribute to our growing portfolio of projects.   Role Overview   As an Ecologist, you will play a key role in conducting ecological surveys, assessments, and habitat management plans. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support environmental projects across a variety of sectors, including conservation, development, and infrastructure.   Key Responsibilities Conduct field surveys, including Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species surveys, and ecological monitoring. Prepare ecological reports, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and mitigation plans. Advise clients on ecological constraints and opportunities within their projects. Contribute to biodiversity enhancement plans and habitat restoration schemes. Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental legislation. Stay up-to-date with ecological best practices and contribute to the company’s growth and innovation. Key Requirements: Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Experience conducting ecological surveys and assessments. Knowledge of UK and/or international wildlife legislation and guidelines. Experience in protected species survey techniques (e.g., bats, great crested newts, reptiles, etc.). Strong report writing and communication skills. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various sites. Qualifications Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) Additional ecological skills or licenses (e.g., bat or newt licences).
