Job Title: SEND Casework Officer Location: Warrington Borough Council Pay rate: £17 - £21.30 Contract Type: Full-Time, Agency About the Role: Warrington Borough Council is seeking a passionate and organized SEND Casework Officer to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing cases relating to children and young people with SEND, ensuring that they receive the support and resources required to achieve positive educational outcomes. You will work closely with families, schools, and multi-agency professionals to deliver high-quality services and provide advice on SEND processes. Key Responsibilities: * Manage a caseload of children and young people with Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans, ensuring timely and effective casework in line with statutory requirements. * Coordinate the assessment and review process for EHC plans, liaising with parents, schools, and relevant agencies to ensure individual needs are met. * Advise families and professionals on SEND policies, procedures, and legal entitlements. * Ensure that all communication, reports, and paperwork are accurate and completed within statutory timeframes. * Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, ensuring that the voices of children and their families are central to decision-making processes. * Monitor the progress and outcomes of children with SEND, working with schools and agencies to adjust support where needed. * Provide advice and guidance to schools, professionals, and parents regarding SEND provision and funding. * Contribute to service development, identifying areas for improvement and promoting best practice in SEND case management. Qualifications and Skills: * Experience working in a SEND role within education, social care, or a related field. * Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans, and relevant SEND legislation. * Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage a varied and demanding caseload. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with families, professionals, and multi-agency teams. * Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing documentation and statutory processes. * Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems. * Experience working within a local authority setting is desirable but not essential
