We are now looking for a Safeguarding Officer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 35 hours per week.

The Role
As a Safeguarding Officer, you will manage a portfolio of cases, assess and mitigate risks, and support abuse survivors in our community.
Specifically, you will closely collaborate with our diocesan team, religious orders, and safeguarding personnel in parishes to ensure that safeguarding policies are effectively implemented.
You will handle casework, consult on safeguarding issues, deliver training, and build relationships within the diocesan community to promote safety and awareness.
Additionally, you will:
- Assess and manage risks associated with safeguarding concerns
- Perform risk assessments to inform safeguarding plans
- Deliver training to various diocesan stakeholders
- Engage with survivors to provide support and guidance
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve safeguarding objectives
About You
To be considered as a Safeguarding Officer, you will need:
- Professional safeguarding experience in social work, probation, or police services
- Strong organisational and detail-oriented skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to work with discretion and confidentiality
- Knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and practices
- The capacity to prioritise, manage deadlines, and remain calm under pressure
