An exciting opportunity has come available for a experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our clients SEN School based in Wakefield which supports young people aged 11-19 with autism, learning disabilities, communication and behavioural needs. Role and Responsibilities: * Support students with learning, development and progress in all areas of the curriculum within a range of learning contexts including the classroom, the local environment and within the community * Help young people with a range of needs, assisting them with their learning and development in the classroom * Support an environment that fosters equality, diversity and the rights of all young people to be seen as learners and be treated with respect * Place an emphasis on support and empowerment of young people * Develop a greater understanding of Special Education issues * Provide high quality support in all aspects of the role * The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines What we are looking for: * Previous experience working with young people beneficial but not essential * Desire to put people first at all times, treating them as individuals * Good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills * Good communication skills written and verbal * A passion for working and learning with children * Right to Work in the UK * A confident, kind, and creative personality So, are you ready for your next job?
