About the role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students with ASD and ADHD, providing vital 1:1 and small group support. Your role will be to help these students thrive in the classroom, encouraging their engagement, development, and independence. You’ll collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement tailored learning plans, ensuring that each child receives the support they need to succeed. The senior leadership team (SLT) is highly supportive, offering excellent training and development opportunities to help you grow in your career. Application Requirements: • Experience working with children with ASD and/or ADHD is essential. • A caring and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for helping children with SEN. • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members. • Strong communication and organisational skills. • A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is required. Key Responsibilities: • Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support to students with ASD and ADHD in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. • Assist in implementing personalised learning plans in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO. • Create a positive and nurturing learning environment to help children develop confidence and independence. • Support students in managing their emotional and social challenges, helping them develop coping strategies. • Help with classroom management and contribute to the wider school community.
