Key Responsibilities:
* Lead with Vision: Inspire your team of teachers to innovate, collaborate, and deliver engaging science lessons that captivate students from Key Stage 3 to A-Level.
* Shape the Future: Develop and refine a curriculum that ignites a passion for science, pushing boundaries and setting the stage for academic success.
* Mentor & Grow: Support and guide your colleagues with professional development opportunities, ensuring your team is equipped to deliver world-class education.
* Empower Students: Foster a learning environment where students can question, experiment, and explore. Help them realise their potential and achieve outstanding results.
* Innovate: Bring new ideas to the table! We encourage the use of cutting-edge technology and creative teaching strategies to keep our students engaged.
* Collaborate: Work closely with senior leadership and other department heads to align science with the broader school goals. Be a key player in driving the school’s academic vision.
* Inspire Beyond the Classroom: Encourage students to take their love of science further through extracurricular clubs, projects, and national competitions.
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a science-related degree.
* A track record of success in teaching science across different key stages, ideally with experience in leading or mentoring others.
* Passion, enthusiasm, and the ability to inspire both students and staff.
* A strong knowledge of the national curriculum, as well as a commitment to driving academic performance.
* A growth mindset—always looking for ways to innovate and stay on the cutting edge of education.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
