Marketing Manchester is the agency charged with promoting Greater Manchester to a global audience as a place to visit, invest, meet and study. As the city-region's Destination Marketing Organisation, Marketing Manchester is responsible for the strategic positioning of Greater Manchester and the development of its promotional brand framework.
Marketing Manchester leads on the visitor economy and incorporate the Manchester Convention Bureau and Sports Bidding Unit. Marketing Manchester delivers campaigns in partnership with MIDAS focused on the promotion of frontier sectors including digital, innovation and green, and undertakes a range of place promotion activities, for capital investment and real estate sector.
Marketing Manchester (MM) has an exciting new opportunity for a Digital Assistant to sit within the Digital team, which has responsibility for a wide range of digital channels, content and campaigns to achieve the organisation’s objectives. The Digital Assistant will support the development of Marketing Manchester’s digital channels, content and the delivery of digital campaigns and activity.
Key Responsibilities
* To work as part of the Digital Team to help develop and deliver strategic digital activity.
* Able to write and edit engaging and informative copy for multiple audiences on multiple channels.
* To create and edit images and films for multiple audiences on multiple channels.
* Assist in the management of digital channels including websites, social media and email marketing to meet group and stakeholder requirements.
* Facilitate data collection and content generation by liaising with internal teams, partner organisations, stakeholders and other organisations.
* To support the development of a house style in conjunction with existing internal and external proofing and editing standards and requirements.
* To support the extraction, analysis and interpretation of statistical data for Marketing Manchester’s digital portfolio and production of regular reports.
* Assist in the management of day-to-day operational issues associated with the Marketing Manchester’s digital platforms.
About you
* Must be IT literate with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
* Interest and experience in digital marketing.
* Proven ability to prioritise individual workload.
* Experience of working with the public and private sectors and experience of partnership working.
* Confidence when communicating with people on all levels .
* Desire to work as part of a team along with the ability to work independently.
* Have a proactive approach to work and able to show initiative.
Skills Required
* Ability to write platform-suitable content that is informative and interesting.
* Experience of using digital platforms such as content management systems, image manipulation software, video editing software, email marketing systems and Google Analytics.
* Have a passion for Manchester.
* Ability to work with other team members and stakeholders to interpret their requirements and implement activity accordingly.
