Job Title: Teacher of English Location: Beaconsfield School Type: Ofsted 'Good' Mainstream Start Date: January 2025 or earlier Pay Scale: MPS/UPS (based on experience) Dunbar Education is thrilled to offer an excellent opportunity for a committed Teacher of English to join a well-established Ofsted 'Good' mainstream school in Beaconsfield. This role starts January 2025 or earlier, with a competitive salary on the MPS/UPS scale. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Professional Values and Practice: Hold high expectations for all students, respecting their diverse social, cultural, linguistic, and ethnic backgrounds. Safeguard and promote the welfare of students at all times. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and raise educational standards. Engage with parents or carers, providing regular updates on student progress and achievements. Commit to professional development, identifying areas for improvement and enhancing teaching effectiveness. Attend staff and departmental meetings and participate in performance management processes. Contribute to the school's duty rota and adhere to the Health and Safety policy. Teaching and Learning: Set challenging and relevant teaching objectives for all students based on their individual needs and prior achievements. Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that meet the needs of all students, including those with special educational needs, in collaboration with the SENCO. Implement the school's Literacy policy to support the development of students' reading, writing, and communication skills. Use a variety of teaching methods and styles tailored to students' abilities, while maintaining a high standard of behaviour in line with the school's policies. Work effectively as part of a team, guiding and collaborating with other adults supporting students' learning. Monitoring and Assessment: Use a range of monitoring and assessment strategies to evaluate students' progress and adjust teaching accordingly. Mark and assess work regularly in line with the school's marking and assessment policy. Set and mark homework as required and record and report on student progress. Safeguarding: Ensure you are familiar with and understand all current safeguarding policies. Report any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
