Job Description
As a retail manager your responsibilities include overseeing operations, supervising staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, managing inventory, upholding food safety standards, monitoring finances, and collaborating on marketing efforts.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the financial goals and work towards achieving them.
Continuously monitor performance metrics, such as revenue, sales conversion rates, and average transaction value, to ensure targets are being met or exceeded.
Monitor the work of all staff members and provide regular feedback and coaching.
Conduct appraisals to assess performance, identify training needs, and recognise employee potential.
Address any skill gaps through appropriate training initiatives.
Foster a positive and motivated team culture that aligns with the BaxteterStoreys values.
Hold regular team meetings to communicate targets, standards, and relevant company and client information.
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and address them promptly.
Keep the staff well-informed about changes, updates, and expectations.
Encourage open communication channels to gather feedback, suggestions, and insights from employees.
Manage and schedule in Marketing Campaigns that aligns with Baxterstorey and client specific requirements
Develop and evolve the restaurant Menu and retail product spaces based on customer feedback and market trends.
Regularly assess the customer experience and recommend and implement adjustments and improvements.
Stay updated with the latest retail and restaurant industry practices, innovations, and technologies to enhance the overall experience.
Ensure the implementation and enforcement of rigorous health and safety protocols in the front of house areas.
Provide comprehensive training to employees on health and safety practices, emergency procedures, and compliance requirements.
Encourage all team members to be creative and innovative. Plan, coordinate and execute events as per clients request and client events team
Create reports for senior management and performance reviews in line with BaxterStorey company procedures
Ensure that all financial reporting on evolution ( sales ,purchasing and accruals as well as client reporting is completed in a timely fashion; accurately and efficiently and in line with BaxterStorey procedures.
Ensure a weekly stock take is carried out on a weekly basis and have sufficient par stock levels of all products required to deliver the Operation.
To be responsible for ensuring storage areas are kept organised and cleaned and any maintenance or repairs are reported
Qualifications
Requirements and skills needed:
Microsoft office applications including SharePoint, Forms, OneDrive, Outlook etc.
Able to demonstrate your analytical approach to problem solving
Have the ability to display a real passion for food and customer service
You thrive on getting the best out of people and maximising commercial opportunities
You draw satisfaction from managing, training and supporting a team
Detail-oriented and high level of accuracy
Have experience in an Manager role ideally in contract catering, High street or Hotel
Good understanding of report writing and financial management.
Possess excellent supervisory and communication skills
Good delegation and influencing skills
Willingness to learn and progress
Be honest and trustworthy
