Our client, a leading global logistics organisation that provides a high-quality level of freight forwarding and logistics services, are looking to recruit an Air Import Clerk, to be based at offices near Colnbrook, Berkshire.

- Working hours: 4 on 4 off, shift pattern 7am 7pm.
- An attractive salary up to £35K, dependant on skills and experience.
- On commencement, 21 days annual plus bank holidays. Annual leave increases by one day per complete year of service up to a maximum of an additional 5 days
Main Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Air Import Manager, as an Air Import Clerk you will handle air import freight forwarding operations from start to finish and maximising profitability of each client account by offering exemplary customer service to the client base.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Air Import Clerk:
- Communication with customers is paramount and keeping them updated along the way via email and phone
- Execute the import shipment at the agreed cost and report any deviation
- Communicate with origin office to set up shipment and monitor them
- Provide quote, if required
- Customs clearance (to be done following clearance instruction and ensure the direct rep. letter is held on file)
- Bill VAT/DUTY if our deferment a/c was used
- Add all costs to the files
- Update milestones in BT as per department requirements
- Billing, on time and accurately
- PODs ensure that all files have PODs before closing a file
- Invoice queries
- Cross training as required by the department

- Proven experience handling air import freight forwarding operations
- To be able to work alone and also as a part of the team and demonstrate initiative
